Dr. Michael O’Hara was born in Lompoc, CA and grew up in Orcutt, CA where he attended Righetti high school. It was Dr. Harley Boos who helped him discover his passion for veterinary medicine. Upon completing his undergraduate education at UC Santa Cruz in biochemistry and molecular biology he began working here at Arroyo Grande Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary technician. He then attended Western University of Health Sciences School of Veterinary Medicine in Pomona, CA where he received his doctorate in veterinary medicine. He now lives in Arroyo Grande, CA with his wife Katie, his dogs- Daisy, Tulow, and his parrot “Bird.” In his free time, Dr. O’Hara enjoys fishing, hiking, and camping. His main interests in veterinary medicine are ultrasonography and orthopedic surgery. Dr. O’ Hara is also PennHip certified.
